Hard luck to our under 12 team on being defeated by St Michael's on Sat 20th June. The team put in a great effort and were unlucky to lose by just one point. Well done to the team on getting to this final and credit to the team coaches Tomas Keogh and Eddie Murphy for their training and words of encouragement.

Thank you to all who took part in the La na gClub on Sunday 10th May. The day was marked with the planting of a tree at our club grounds which was preceded by a parade of club members from Curraha Church car park to Joe McDermott Park. A display of old newspaper articles and photographs were displayed and mini-football and hurling games were held throughout the afternoon. A selection of photos from the day will be posted in the Pictures section.

Results of Curraha GAA Aintree Grand National Sweep: 1st Prize €300 Chris Hogan, 2nd Prize €150 Paddy O'Connor, 3rd Prize €75 Michael Hoey, 4th Prize €50 Máire O'Connor. The club would like to thank everyone who bought or sold lines in our sweep.

Well done to Jack Hogan and the Dunshaughlin Community College team on recently winning their North Leinster Colleges B title with a 4-point win over local rivals Kilcock.
- Our Annual General Meeting was held on Thursday 11th December in Curraha Hall. Thank you to all who attended and to everyone who was involved with the club throughout 2008. Check Committee section for officers.
- Membership: Membership for 2009 is now due for those who play for Curraha and is open to those who support our club. Please pay it as soon as possible. We encourage all families to take out membership. Fees are: Family (2 adults and children under 14) - 100 Euro; Adult - 60 Euro; Student - 20 Euro; It is both essential and a requirement that everyone who plays for the club pays membership.

Curraha GAA Club Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday 29th November 2007 in Curraha Hall. The AGM is an ideal time for anybody who has ideas, suggestions and some time to get involved with their club. The committee hopes that all members - players and supporters, attend this meeting and try to encourage as many as possible to join them in coming. This coming year the club needs more people willing to help out coaching the juvenile hurling and football teams.

U11 Hurling - the team played their first ever match versus St Finbar’s Dublin in the North Dublin Indoor League at
Gormanstown College, going down 3-6. Feb 4th. On Feb 11th, they lost to a seasoned Collon outfit 3-10. Next games: vs Skerries Harps, Sun 18th February, Gormanstown College 4:30pm. U11 Blitz JJB, Dundalk. Sun 25th February, 10:30am-1pm
The u8s made their mark at the Meath Indoor Blitz at the JJB in Dundalk on Feb 11th. Their record was:
Lost Navan O’Mahony’s 1-3; Lost Naoimh Moninne 0-2; Lost St Martins 6-7; Won Kilmessan 7-4. Congratulations to our magnificent 7, on securing the club’s first ever win, they were: Jack O’Connor, Mark Phelan, Jamie Cleary, Ian and Andrew Battersby, Aidan and Niall McLarnon.

Annual General Meeting was held on Thursday 7th December in Curraha Hall. Thank you to all who attended and thanks also to everyone who was involved in one way or other with the club throughout 2006. It was a great year for the club on the field. Hopefully 2007 will bring as much success if not more. Check Committee section for details of officers elected. Membership is now due for the coming year. This should be paid as soon as possible to the Club treasuer, Assistant Treasurer or to the Membership officers. It is both an essential and a requirement that everyone involved with the club pays membership.

Ciaran McLarnon was the lucky recipient of an All-Ireland Football Final ticket when his name was drawn from amongst the members of our club. The draw was held in McAlinden & Gallagher Solicitors' office on Thursday 14th September by their Commissioner of Oaths. Enjoy the match Joe!!

Well done to our under 10 players who won the recent blitz held in St Colmcille's. The team was undefeated on the day and all their hard work and training seems to be already bearing results.

Under 10s league - started Saturday 13th May in Curraha. Curraha were beaten by Donaghmore/Ashbourne. Rest of group is: St Vincents, St Colmcilles, Blackhall, St Patricks, Skyrne and St Martins - games will be played every weekend and players will be notified of fixtures.

The Under 10s and Under 8s played two very good games against St Cianan's, Bellewstown, on a bright but cold morning on Saturday 8th April in Curraha. Both Curraha teams played some excellent passing football and all their hard work at training over the winter months seems to be paying off. These teams will hopefully continue to have games most Saturday mornings and are continuing to improve their skills and teamwork all the time.

The First Team played their first game of the season against Parnell's
(Dublin) on Sunday 8th January in Curraha. The game was a very well played one
with old and new players turning up to start off the new seaon. A
return game was played at Parnell's on Sunday 15th. Training: Tuesays and FRIDAYs at 8pm.

Curraha GAA Club - AGM will be held on Thursday 1st December 2005 at 8.00pm in
Curraha Hall. The AGM is an ideal time for anybody who has ideas, suggestions
and some time to get involved with their club. The committee hopes that all
members-players and supporters attend this meeting and try to encourage as many
as possible to join them in coming. The club needs positive people to get
involved in any small way they can and we welcome new and old members.
- 2005 has been a difficult year for the first team for a number of reasons which
need to be and will be addressed. Our under 15 to minor teams have again put in
trojan efforts, the highlight being the Under 16s reaching the Div 3A Final.
Our underage set-up has continued to grow with some very dedicated players
developing all the time and getting stronger with the development of the under
8 team.
As we approach the end of 2005 and near our AGM now is the time for everyone,
players, committee and members, to look at this club, Curraha, and ask
themselves how have they helped this club this year and how will they further
improve the club in 2006.

Clean-up of the clubhouse and grounds will be held on 2-3 Saturdays during
October/November, please make time to help out in this to improve your club
grounds.

Wednesdays 14th and 21st August 2005 (Note change of dates) - A major Planning and Development Meeting is being held on Wednesdays 14th and 21st August 2005 at 8pm in Curraha Hall to discuss the current structures of our club and also where we as a club see ourselves going in the future. This is a hugely important meeting and anyone who has an interest in our club should attend. We expect all players, committee officials and all members to attend and we encourage non-members to attend to give support and suggestions into our forward planning. Contact Paul O'Connor or any committee member if you have any queries about these meetings.

Under 10s won a blitz held in St Colmcille’s on Saturday 27th August drawing with St Vincent’s and beating Navan O’Mahoney’s, St Colmcille’s and Gaeil Colmcilles. Well done to all the team.

August - Under 13s recorded a fine victory over Oldcastle beating them 2-16 to 2-05 with Aaron McDonnell in great free-kicking form.

June 25, 2005 - Curraha under 9s played won all 3 games in a blitz competition in Kilbride. The team received a trophy for winning the final and each player received a medal for taking part in the competition.

Year end, 2004 - 2004 was a difficult year for the first team – relegated back to Junior A. However, we did reach 3 major finals and we are confident that the future will bring more success. The Development Fund Committee continues to raise funds to improve our facilities and relies on the support of all involved with the club to further these plans. We encourage more people to get involved at all levels and we look forward to 2005 being a great year.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING - Friday 10th December, 2004 -8.30 pm, Curraha Hall. The upcoming AGM is an ideal time for those not already actively involved with the club at committee and/or playing levels to get involved constructively. The club needs more people helping out at coaching levels, playing level and in the running of the club to ensure its survival and enable further success. We encourage anyone [parents, former and present players etc] willing to get involved and/or become a member to attend.

September 2004 - Curraha GFC’S Development Fund Committee has announced a major fund-raising event to be held this year. There will be a benefit night at the races in Mullingar Greyhound Stadium on Saturday 23rd October, 2004 with the first race at 7.50 pm. To nominate a dog costs 20 Euro, which entitles you to entry to the stadium and entry into a draw for a €1,000 holiday voucher!! (available to buy from club committee members and players).

July 3, 2004 - Curraha GFC wish to congratulate Clodagh Laffey, Cathy Collins, Conleth McLarnon, Ciaran O'Hanrahan, Aaron McDonnell, Lauren Canavan and Adam Ennos (all Curraha) on being part of the Ratoath Under 11 Division 1 final winning team which was played against Trim on Sunday 3rd July. Well done to all involved!!

May 19, 2004 - Sean Kelly visit - Curraha National School had the honour of welcoming President of the GAA, Mr. Sean Kelly. Mr Kelly's visit is part of the build-up to this year's hurling Feile which is being hosted by Ratoath Hurling Club. With so many of the students from Curraha playing with Ratoath it was a very proud moment in the history of the school to have Mr Kelly visit. He was welcomed by both the School itself and also by representatives of Curraha GFC. To celebrate the occasion, the children of the school were kitted out in their Green and Gold colours (and some other colours too!).

May, 2004: An under-10 League has been set-up which will be played out over the next few weeks. These games are to further the skills of the children but are primarily being played for enjoyment and experience. We encourage any children and parents who have not yet become involved to attend these matches and also the under 10s and under 8s training on Friday evenings - 6.30 to 7.30!
- April 2004 - LOTTO tickets are available from committee members and players. LOTTO is held every Sunday night in Swan's, Beck's, or Snail Box pubs. As the LOTTO is the main source of income for our club we encourage our players, members and supporters to buy/sell at least one envelope for each draw.
- April, 2004: A Development Committee has been formed whose aim is to further the expansion and progression of the club in the coming years. This is a sub-committee within the club and anybody interested in assisting should contact Pat Moriarty.
- February, 2004: Curraha GFC is currently researching the Club's History both on and off the field with a view to publishing a book. If you have any information or enquiries, contact Paul O'Connor (currahagfc@hotmail.com) (01-8256 736) or Susan Keogh.
